How are the teams picked?
When people convey interest in playing in the league, they are initially asked their skill level upon registration.
They are then asked to play in an Open Play or "Ratings Session."
During the assessment, league coaches can gather a sense of the skill level. All players are assessed and later chosen through a draft system by the league coaches.
AWBL strives to ensure a balanced league where teams have the appropriate players playing in specific divisions in order to create the most fun and balanced playing environment.
Are there playoffs?
Yes. At the conclusion of each season, the teams battle it out in playoffs to win their division championship.
Is there a minimum age limit?
Yes, you must be at least 18 years old when registering in order to participate in the AWBL.
Can I get a refund if I cannot finish a season?
Players are expected to commit to playing the entire length of the season unless there is an extenuating circumstance verified by the Board of Directors. In the case of such a circumstance, the player will be refunded on a prorated basis.
Refunds will not be issued for instances outside of an extenuating circumstance.
Is there Open Play?
Yes, AWBL currently has 3 Open Plays prior to the season starting. New players must attend at least one to get rated for the draft.
Please join the league's mailing list to be notified of the next Open Play. Contact info@atxwomensbasketball.com for more information.
Are there practices?
Unfortunately, there are no practices scheduled.
We do offer Skills Clinic based on requests. Contact Tara Alexander to inquire about the next upcoming skills clinic.
How much does it cost to participate?

How many seasons do you play?
